At Rasayana, we celebrate the fusion of tradition and innovation through our meticulously crafted menu, featuring a harmonious blend of traditional Sri Lankan and Indian culinary delights, all infused with a modern twist. Our offerings are not just a feast for the taste buds but also a nourishment for the soul, aligned with the ancient principles of Ayurvedic nutrition.
Our menu is divided into four distinct seasonal offerings – Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter – each carefully tailored to align with Ayurveda's wisdom on the six tastes or "rasas" and their impact on the body's dosha balance: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
Spring Thali: Focused on balancing the increased Kapha with pungent, bitter, and astringent tastes.
Summer Thali: Designed to counteract Pitta with sweet, bitter, and astringent flavors.
Autumn Thali: A blend of sweet, sour, and salty tastes to soothe the dry and cold qualities of Vata.
Winter Thali: Continues with Vata-pacifying tastes, adjusted for the rising Kapha as late winter approaches.
Our diverse array of base dishes and curries, from Sri Lankan and Indian street food, offers a rich tapestry of flavors categorized under the six rasas: Sweet (Madhura), Sour (Amla), Salty (Lavana), Pungent (Katu), Bitter (Tikta), and Astringent (Kashaya). Each dish is an embodiment of these tastes, providing a comprehensive and balanced dining experience.
